This page is maintained by the What 2 Dress team and explains what the app collects, how your photos and generated images are handled, and how to remove them. It describes our current practices; it is not an independent audit or certification.

What we collect

  • Account details: your email address and sign-in method (email/password or Google).
  • Profile details you enter: name, gender, height, weight, selected body build, sizes and style preferences.
  • Photos you upload: full-body and head-and-shoulders photos used to build your avatar, plus wardrobe item photos and retailer screenshots.
  • App activity: outfits you build or save, thumbs up/down ratings, trips and packing lists, and the generated try-on images produced for you.

How we use it

  • To verify your uploaded photos meet the framing, lighting and angle requirements for avatar creation.
  • To generate your avatar and photoreal try-on renders of outfits.
  • To auto-tag wardrobe items (category, colour, fabric, formality, warmth) so outfits can be assembled from clothes you actually own.
  • To learn your taste from ratings and improve future suggestions.
  • To build weather-aware packing lists for the destination and dates you enter.

Where your data is stored

  • Account, profile, wardrobe metadata, outfits, ratings and trips are stored in our managed Postgres database with row-level security, so each row is readable only by the account that owns it.
  • Images (body photos, garment photos and generated renders) are stored in Amazon S3 under a per-user prefix and served through short-lived pre-signed links. Browsers never receive raw storage credentials.
  • Generated renders are cached so revisiting a look does not regenerate the image.

Processors we use

  • Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
  • Amazon Web Services (S3) — image storage.
  • Z.ai (GLM vision models) — photo verification, garment tagging and outfit reasoning.
  • Lovable AI Gateway — generation of avatar and try-on images.
  • Open-Meteo — weather and geocoding lookups for trip planning (destination and dates only; no personal identifiers are sent).

Sharing

  • Your photos, wardrobe and renders are private to your account by default.
  • A look or your lookbook becomes viewable by anyone with the link only when you explicitly turn sharing on. You can turn sharing off at any time from your lookbook, which invalidates the public page.
  • We do not sell your data and we do not use your photos to train our own models.

Retention and deletion

  • We keep your data while your account exists. You can delete individual photos, garments, outfits and trips from inside the app at any time.
  • Ask us to delete your account and we remove your database records and the images stored under your storage prefix.
  • Messages sent through the contact form are kept only so we can reply to you.

Cookies

  • We use only the storage needed to keep you signed in and remember app preferences. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.

Your choices

  • You can review and edit what the app has learned about your style from the “Your style so far” panel.
  • You can request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate details, or deletion, by contacting us.
